You should be able to change your name back.
I've played on their servers many times, and I just have to change my name. They don't accept names with certain characters in them.

It is. I've been a many John_Doe's and it's never done anything weirder than changing my name on me. Their server is pretty clean in those terms compared to the AREA servers which go out of their way to be nasty.
