Even young people with compromised health have a very hard time with this. My 23-year-old sister has an Auto Immune Disease and if she can avoid getting this, the better. I've only ever looked at this as something to avoid the large spread of, as to not prematurely knock the population further down. Yes, everyone dies - but there isn't a goal to die, there's a goal to live. The sooner is not the better and if we have it in our power to control something like this to save your neighbor's life, why not?

"Yes, everyone dies - but there isn't a goal to die, there's a goal to live"

Thanks, Ruddy. Words we should all strive to live by. Literally. So good to see so many responders. I very much miss fragging you all.

My home is about 20 minutes south of that Life Care Center in Kirkland, WA. My eldest has already been out of school for 2 1/2 weeks, with 5 1/2 to go. My job is bad and hipfire accuracy worse...a mere shell of what I once was just a few short months ago.

The personal pity party: I'd ordinarily just be getting home from a little league practice, but Little League International is advising no organized activities until May 11. Wouldn't matter anywho since no external users have been allowed on city fields since March 9. Had a branch come down through the crest of my roof a few weeks back. That was fun. Oh, and my wife was rear ended at Christmas, totaled her car. Also fun. And no bars on St. Patrick's Day? Oy...

QQ aside, the family unit is amazing, aside from no edumication all are healthy and happy save for my wife's constant pressure about getting another dog. (Any suggestions? We've had a black lab and a golden retriever...)

I suggest we avoid senselessly politicizing this virus thing. Appreciated the Italian cord wood reference because, yeah, lots of people will not survive this. Sad.

Take care all, stay safe and healthy.

Hi all!

I'm also doing alright given the circumstances.

In France, we've been in confinement since the 16th of March, meaning in the same way as for many other countries that all non-essential public places are closed, most people work from home (although we are technically still allowed to go to work, most companies decided to close down their facilities), and whenever we leave our house, we have to carry a signed and dated note saying why we are going out. If we don't bring this note, or if it does not actually fit with what we're doing, we will be fined between 135 and 1500 Euros.

As my company was not very good at making a decision, I took 12 days of paid leave, so I've been spending some time doing nothing, which has been nice, because it's the first time I've taken off since I started working here in France half a year ago.
The timing of my leave was not too great, because I have just been promoted to supervisor of my regional business unit (consisting in the Scandinavian, Baltic, and Finnish customer service teams), so I'm excited to get started on that. But these are exceptional times, so exceptional things necessarily happen.
I had to make a decision, as my girlfriend has a weak immune system.

Yes, this virus is a big deal, even though for many people it is not much more than a flu. Primarily, as Ruddy and FBO pointed out, because if the healthcare systems are overloaded, then they won't be able to treat people, and this will cause more people to die from the virus. Frankly, I don't know how someone who works in the healthcare system can fail to realise this.

Stay safe, everyone, and I miss fragging you too!

we are also in the same situation here in Mississippi. some cities have already gone to lockdown.

ours is not as of yet. grocery stores are still open, schools are closed. concerts cancelled, casinos are closed. drive thru to fast food and ect are open. my family is healthy so far.

been staying home and working in the yard. I been trying to get on when I can. I play for a couple of hours and then vegetate in front of the t.v.

I have finally got my strength back from when I was sick at the beginning of the year.

just 1 question who needs that much toliet paper?

toliet paper do not stay on the shelves. I can understand food, water but toliet paper.

I went on amazon they are pretty much wiped out on toliet paper. they have theses off brand with bad reviews, haha.

anyways thanks for asking ruddy.

All well here in my little village in good Old Blighty. Scary times for everyone but it's lovely to have far flung people such as Ruddy reach out across the void and check how people are doing.

Enjoying working from home, but have to be really careful as my wife's one of the high risk people we need to protect.

For anyone thinking this thing is blown out of proportion, imagine explaining that to my 2 and 5 year old if the worst happened!

This is not a political thing, it's a humanitarian issue, stay safe, stay home, play COD :D

All the best guys
