I play on your server a lot. I was wondering if I joined would my airstrike and heli kills improve. I'm sorta kidding, but it does seem like section 8 members get a lot of kills with their airstrikes and helis. Is there a secret? Some helpful advice? My helicopter seems to get shot down really fast or my pilot is wasted. Not accusing or complaining just an observation.

With Airstrikes it's all about placement. I have more.fail AS's than I do good ones.
Heli's it's all about the map vs the team shooting it down.
I am guessing you know to not use your heli until after you die, so it can help rack up your Killstreaks again.
We s*8 do the same as everyone else.

Thanks for the reply Ruddy. I guess I need better aim on my airstrikes. I know a clip or less will take down a heli.

All good. Totally understandable that the support can get highly irritating. Especially when you happen to be on a team who will stand out in the airstrike or who wont shoot down the heli.

I usually try to guess where i think the enemy is moving to for air strikes, Rather than putting it where theyre at. It takes a few before the explosions start! By then many players have moved. Heli's on this server are very aggressive. But shot down fast, It all depends on who is on the other team, I can get 10 kills + with a heli on an open map if no one is shooting it, Or often get 0 kills if it gets shot down fast..

If you’re trying to select an airstrike location and suddenly become aware that the enemy is about to be on you, send it down on your position

With airtrikes, the placement is tricky, since you can't do the pin-pointing like you can in MW2 - you just put it somewhere, and if you're lucky, they will come from a good direction. So it's really about practicing and getting used to which spots will make them come from a good direction.
For instance, on Showdown, if you place the airstrike where I've marked red crosses on the map, they are likely to come in from either of the directions illustrated by the two-headed arrows.
